32nd ESARDA Annual Meeting

4-6 May 2010, Luxembourg

The 2010 ESARDA Annual Meeting, to be held in Luxembourg, from 4 to 6 May 2010, will be a closed meeting, focusing on the “New Challenges in Nuclear Security”. Attendance will be by invitation to the ESARDA participants (Steering Committee, Executive Board and all Working Groups). Invitations will also be extended to the IAEA involved staff and representatives of nuclear related organisations from the EU member States, Switzerland and Norway.

Side meetings will be held on May 3rd (ESARDA Reflection Group 2010; ESARDA Steering Committee; INMM ISD meeting)

To facilitate the practical organisation of the meeting, you are kindly requested to register before 26 April 2010.

centre and has wonderful views over the city and the valley.

The agenda for this meeting includes:

    - Introductory presentations from the ESARDA President, from the EC DG TREN and JRC, IAEA;

    A plenary session involving all participants, to present the current “New Challenges in nuclear security” and open the debate by the Working Groups:

    - Reflection Group 2010;
    - Export Control;
    - Illicit Trafficking;
    - Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty;
    - Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty;

    Sessions of Working Groups;

    Joint sessions of Working Groups to explore synergies with regard to new safeguards approaches;

    A final plenary session:

    - to enable Working Groups to report on the findings of their discussions on future activities and interaction;
    - with a summary and closing remarks by the President.

    EC DG TREN will support the meeting through their involvement in each WG, bringing to the groups their experiences, needs and priorities for the future.
